VCE Englishes: Day One

VATE invites VCE teachers to the annual VCE Englishes Days. Day One is specifically programmed for teachers of English Language, Literature, and new teachers to English and EAL. This full-day program includes three engaging sessions, each exploring different aspects of the relevant Study Designs. Sessions will offer practical strategies, course-specific guidance, and opportunities for discussion and reflection.  

To best meet participants’ needs, the event is organised into two main streams, with an additional new stream specifically for English and EAL teachers:

• Experienced Teachers Stream: For educators currently teaching VCE English Language or Literature who have experience with the Study Designs.
• New Teachers Stream: For educators who are new to teaching VCE English, English Language or Literature or those planning to teach these subjects during the year.
• New Teachers to VCE EAL Stream: For teachers new to VCE English as an Additional Language Units 1-4.. 

Day One delegates will select one stream and remain in it throughout the day to encourage focused learning and meaningful networking.

To register, you must be a 2026 VATE member.

Day Two of VATE's VCE Days will be held on Friday 13 February 2026 (please see separate event page).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be emailed to events@vate.org.au. Cancellations received by 12pm five working days prior to the event date will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations received after this will receive NO REFUND. Registrations can, however, be transferred to another staff member. Please email events@vate.org.au the details. If you do not attend and have not notified VATE according to the above policy, you will receive no refund.  Please note: If this event is cancelled due to COVID government or venue restrictions, you will receive a full refund.

Catering and special diets (in-person events only)

Coeliac, vegan and other special diets (medical related) can be requested. Please email your special diet request to events@vate.org.au at least seven working days prior to the event. Please note: Approximately 50% of the catering will be vegetarian. You do not need to request this.
