ACMI and VATE present: The Holdovers

Description

In The Holdovers, Alexander Payne delivers a moving and humourous exploration of class, privilege, and makeshift families, whilst leaning into the visual stylings and sentimentality of 1970s American cinema.

Beginning with a screening in ACMI's Cinema 2, this professional learning program also includes:

  • lecture from our ACMI expert focusing on context,
  • film language and themes lecture from experienced teacher Rachel Kafka about teaching strategies
  • workshop on scene analysis
  • teaching resources
  • morning tea and lunch

In addition, we have capped this program to keep your professional learning experience comfortable and collaborative.

We look forward to digging deep into this contemporary classic.

Ground level at ACMI does not open until 10am. Please use the Federation Square entrance.
